Shelley Lagoon Upgrade
R. Radloff & Associates Inc. was tasked with developing options for the Shelley Wastewater Lagoon System to improve its functionality as a septage landfill facility. The Interactive Design of this project ensures that the recommended options are practical and feasible for the City of Prince George. The upgrade included recycling of inert soils, a progressive closure of cell #1, and effluent discharge upgrades to meet the latest Wastewater System Effluent Regulations (WSER).
Project Goals Accomplished:
- To assess existing facilities and existing wastewater loads
- To develop dewatering and storage concepts for the waste stream
- To assess possible temporary and permanent improvements to the dump site
- To assess and identify long term upgrades and management options for the system
